Travel west to east as the day goes on. Each wetland has its own quota, and the light drops at every stop, so exposure gets harder.

How to play
Shooting the lagoon
Aim
Move the mouse. The frame shows exactly what the photo will contain.
Focus
Hold the left button. Autofocus locks on the bird nearest the centre. The box turns amber while it hunts and green when it locks. Low light and fast birds slow it down.
Shoot
Release the button. Releasing before focus locks gives a soft frame.
Zoom
Scroll from 200 mm to 600 mm, or press []. A tighter frame scores more for framing but is harder to keep on a moving bird.
Aim
Push the joystick on the left. The further you push, the faster the frame moves. A full push is quick but can spook nearby birds. You can also drag anywhere on the screen.
Focus
Press and hold the round shutter button on the right. Its ring turns amber while autofocus hunts and green when it locks. Low light and fast birds slow it down.
Shoot
Lift your thumb off the shutter. Lifting before focus locks gives a soft frame.
Zoom
Tap T to zoom in and W to zoom out, or pinch with two fingers. Hold a button to keep zooming. A tighter frame scores more but is harder to keep on a moving bird.
Pause
Tap II at the top right.
Scoring
Each frame is graded out of 100: sharpness 35, framing 30, exposure 15, composition 10, plus bonuses for behaviour such as a kingfisher's hover or dive. Two stars or better counts as photographed.
Quota
Each round sends up ten birds. Photograph enough of them to meet the quota. Every frame uses space on your memory card.
Stay quiet
Fast, jerky pans spook birds near the frame. Firing at an empty frame startles the whole flight and cuts its time.
Enthusiast
123 setTap the shutter-speed button at the top left to cycle 1/500, 1/1000 or 1/2000. A faster shutter freezes motion but darkens the frame in poor light. The small viewfinder at bottom right previews exposure.
Pro
QE change ISO and B togglesThe ISO and burst buttons at the top left change ISO and toggle a three-frame burst. Higher ISO brightens the frame but adds grain. Burst fills the camera's buffer.
